About RenΓ©e

Accomplishments

Addressing β€œOut-of-Compliance" Properties

  • Advocated for the hiring of an independent enforcement-inspector to conduct monthly inspection of our 2,677 homes. Consistent inspections and notices, without the perception of favoritism or retaliation, will ultimately bring properties into compliance, which in turn will improve property values.

  • Implemented and upgraded violation notices to include photo and better explanation of the issue, as well as, the next steps required.

  • Designed and created an online form to allow members to respond, question, dispute, and upload photos regarding violation compliance.

  • Together with the Board of Directors, increased enforcement fines to encourage and incentivize members to bring properties into compliance.

Association Improvements

  • Online Forms: To improve office efficiency and improve member's user-experience, RenΓ©e designed and implemented several online forms, available via the association's website.  Members can now submit (and provide all necessary documentation) for requests for access cards, fitness center waivers, gate keys, and many more.  This has been an overwhelming success as demonstrated by the stats:  Since 5/2023 over 1,100 requests have been submitted by members.

  • Updated Phone & ISP Service: Replaced the antiquated phone system and old ISP service contracts. This single project represents a savings to the membership of ~$10,000 annually.

  • Pedal Boats: Four new boats and life vests were purchased and were operational for member rental during the summer of 2023.

  • Pickle Ball: As part of the larger court resurfacing project, four pickle ball courts were created.  This is the newest and hottest amenity on the Ranch!

  • Written Communications: Improvements continued to the Round-Up newsletter, including Meet Your Neighbor, Pet of the Month, DIY articles, and local destinations. Membership Update emails regularly provide brief, timely and factual information.

  • In-Person & Virtual Communications: It is critical to provide members an opportunity to engage with their elected Directors. Recognizing that need, RenΓ©e was instrumental in the project to equip the association with sound equipment for use at Open Forum meetings, thereby allowing members in the room or attending via Zoom to hear and participate in the meetings. Further, β€œβ˜•οΈ Coffee with a Director” was created to allow members to join an informal conversation, ask questions, or raise concerns with a Director in the clubhouse over a cup of coffee or tea!

  • Improved Website Experience: We continue to grow the information and services available to members on our community website. Visit the "Events" page to see upcoming event and details, "Cards and Keys" to request access cards, etc., "Meetings" to review Open Forum minutes for the past four years,  and "Input" to make a suggestion or to communicate regarding a violation. Future Goals

  • Enhance  Lake Club security with β€œTrifecta”. This plan includes adding access control readers, lights, and security cameras to all Lake Club gates. This long-term goal will allow Patrol Services to immediately address trespassers and protect members.

  • Improve Lake Club signage. Our entrance gates have a myriad of signs. Not only is this an ineffective method to communicate the rules, but it does not project the image of a private membership facility.

  • Repair or replace pool/veranda furniture. Our current furniture is approximately six years old. Unfortunately, many of the fabric slings have been torn by member misuse. My goal is to repair, if cost effective, or to replace units as needed.

  • New member mixers. Sunnymead Ranch is a rich vibrant community with many amenities and activities. Meeting new members, introducing them to our wonderful Lake Club and getting them off on the right foot will benefit all members.

  • Collaboration with the City of Moreno Valley. Working closely with the city to address and identify sidewalk repairs saves Sunnymead Ranch repair expenses and protects us from liability.

Outside the Board Room

As an original homeowner (circa 1988), RenΓ©e has been witness to the ever changing Sunnymead Ranch neighborhoods, both good and bad.

She is married, enjoys two children, three grandchildren and lives in a multi-generational household with hubby, Richard, and dear Momma.

RenΓ©e is a doer and takes on life like a giant project.  Improvements around the home, as well as, projects at Sunnymead Ranch are all handled based on research and methodical planning. She's never seen a check-list that she didn't like!

She loves the outdoors, travel, art, music, theater, and food.  Her interest in cooking however, is not quite as successful as her interest in exploring different foods and drink!  Pair those two passions with live music, and it is a match made in heaven.

She and Richard, enjoy traveling both near and far. In 2023, they were blessed to visit Ireland (Dublin, Cork, Blarney, & Dingle) and Edinburgh, Scotland. Cool and blustery, just like we like it.

Renée was told by a friend that she didn't need to kiss the Blarney Stone during her visit, because she already had the gift of gab! 😊
